The Cookware and Bakeware Alliance (CBA) concluded its Spring Member Meeting in Orlando, Florida in early May, marking significant achievements in membership engagement and industry advancement. The meeting focused extensively on pressing industry challenges facing members, particularly in regulatory, legislative, and tariff matters.
CBA Board President Mike Otterman emphasized the organization’s strategic focus on engineering standards and education. “As we navigate multiple industry challenges, we must stay grounded in how we educate the industry and ensure we have the best, most robust engineering standards in place,” said Otterman during the general session.
The general meeting also featured updates from all core CBA committees – Engineering, Engagement, Education, and Expertise. Other notable presentations included:

The organization is also moving forward with the development of a new Engineering Standards delivery platform and expanding its Learning Library to support both manufacturers and retailers.
The CBA’s commitment to industry excellence is reflected in their active committee participation, with over 85 members from 32 companies engaged in regular monthly meetings. The organization continues to strengthen industry connections through partnerships with IHA, CSA, FBC, and BCLP, while developing their sponsorship program.

Finally, the CBA announced two upcoming member events: a Summer Member Only Webinar on July 23rd and the Fall Member Meeting in Chicago, October 8-9. The Fall meeting will offer both virtual and in-person attendance options, with virtual access available to non-members interested in learning more about the alliance.
