Cookware & Bakeware Leaders Gather to Address Regulatory Challenges and Market Trends

Bradley Beach, NJ, Release: For Immediate Release.

The Cookware and Bakeware Alliance (CBA) recently concluded its 103rd fall member meeting with record attendance, welcoming 80 in-person attendees and 33 virtual participants—the highest turnout since the COVID-19 pandemic. The gathering brought together industry leaders to discuss critical topics including regulatory compliance, sustainability efforts, engineering standards, and emerging market trends.

“We are thrilled to see such strong engagement from our members,” said Fran Attilio, the CBA’s Managing Director. “This record attendance shows the vital role our organization plays in uniting the industry and addressing the complex challenges we face together.”

This meeting, themed “Committees in Action,” provided an opportunity for the four committees—representing the CBA’s mission pillars of Engineering, Engagement, Education, and Expertise—along with numerous subcommittees, to meet in person. They collaborated on plans for the upcoming year and reported on this year’s accomplishments. Special guest speakers also presented on market trends and regulatory updates.

Regulatory Updates and Committee Progress

Meeting attendees received comprehensive updates on federal and state regulations affecting the cookware and bakeware industry, particularly regarding PFAS, lead, and cadmium. The Lead and Cadmium Subcommittee announced the completion of a significant toxicology report conducted with Intrinsic, which concluded that migration testing provides a more accurate assessment of potential health impacts than total content measurements.

The Coatings Advisory Subcommittee reported progress on educational initiatives to combat misinformation about cookware coatings, with plans to finalize documents on PFAS definitions and develop educational materials on Sol Gel Ceramics.

Engineering Standards Modernization

The Engineering Committee presented plans to modernize the CBA’s Engineering Standards structure to improve accessibility and relevance. The committee aims to launch a new distribution model for the standards by the end of 2025, making this critical resource more widely available to industry stakeholders.

Market Insights and Future Trends

The meeting featured expert presentations on shipping industry challenges, global bakeware market trends, and color trends for 2026. Catalina Flores from Euromonitor discussed how economic factors, changing consumer behaviors, and demographic shifts are reshaping the bakeware market, while Vanessa Peterson from PPG Industries unveiled “Secret Safari” as the Color of the Year for 2026.

Looking Ahead

The CBA announced plans to expand networking events at the Inspired Home Show 2026 and implement innovative engagement strategies. The organization continues to strengthen its role as the industry’s voice of authority, working to ensure product safety, establish engineering standards, and provide essential resources to members.
