2022 has been a busy year – a new name, new look and we are celebrating our 100th Anniversary this year.  But wait there’s more! There are 3 incredible new announcements from the Cookware and Bakeware Alliance.

Welcome Retailers!

We are excited and pleased to announce a new membership level for the Alliance.  As of March 2022, the Industry Relations Membership is now available to retailers.

In 2021, the recommendation was made to explore this new member level.  As a result of the task force set to review this recommendation, it was seen as a great benefit to having this important group in our Alliance.

With the support and involvement of retailers, the Alliance will expand with new information and be enhanced by new and important industry perspective.  They will also become an important part of our Engineering Standards development for the industry.

From manufacturers to brand owners, with our supplier members in support, we know to add this incredible membership level to complete the Alliance.  From the idea to the selling floor, our membership levels now represent all in our industry.

Thanks to the support of all the Board members who provided their time to explore and discuss this recommendation. The vote was completed on March 3, 2022.

Standards of Excellence

The Standards of Excellence program was created to show our commitment to creating products built with integrity.  The program is available to CBA members only.  It includes 3 steps:

  1. Read and Agree to Terms, Conditions and Legal Notice
  2. Fill in form with the product/brand information requesting use of the seal
  3. Upload test reports showing CBA Engineering standards have been met

Once the application and test information is received, confirmation of the brand’s application will be issued, and the seal can be used on all marketing and support materials.  In addition, the CBA will promote these items on our social and digital marketing efforts.  Watch for a new brand finder coming later this year!

Industry News: PFAS Legislation

CBA-industry-news

In an effort to help our members stay on top of important topics impacting our industry, a new series has been launched titled “Industry News”.  This is another members-only benefit and one that has been really well received.  The first updates have been focused on PFAS legislation.  Industry News whitepapers have been published on CA, ME, and MA legislation activity, and NY, WA, and MN are in development.  But it is not solely focused on PFAS.  Any issue that our industry faces, we will use this new format to research, compile and share the information our members need to know.

“The Cookware and Bakeware Alliance is growing and evolving.  We are focused on honoring our past, and where we started – an association built on integrity, with a focus on consumer safety.  By creating new programs for our members and expanding the Alliance, we honor our past by building out the future.  Exciting times.  Honored to be a part of this amazing group.” – Fran Groesbeck
